Genesis Block Transforms Combining Entrepreneurship and Technology for Growth
Genesis Block is transforming from a local startup on a mission to build the entrepreneur class into an intelligent business network powered by technology and innovation to fuel growth.
For the past two years, Genesis Block has established itself by helping local small business owners grow their companies and creating an inclusive gathering place for business and community leaders. The Genesis Block business network has grown to over 900 members through digital outreach, business partnerships, memberships and entrepreneur training. Genesis Block is now reorganizing its operational structure to support entrepreneur training, curriculum development and two flexible independent technology platforms as the company plans to scale.
“We’ve had many lessons and opportunities to gain insights from the ground floor over the last 2 years and our experiments have revealed a lack of technology systems and data structure to support the growth of what we call the “diverse economy.”
There is enormous goodwill and intent across the board, but until organizational data becomes more accessible and we have more collaboration on shared data structures technologies such as AI, blockchain and machine learning won’t become as meaningful and impactful in supplier diversity sector as we know that it can be. This means diverse owned businesses will find challenges with financial inclusion, staying competitive and building capacity. On the other hand large organizations will not have the resiliency in their local supply chain to support their supplier diversity strategies,” says Genesis Block CEO Girard Newkirk.
Here is a brief overview of the three platforms that are the foundation of Genesis Block 2.0.
Genesis Block Academy: Building the Entrepreneur Class
Entrepreneur training organization that operates four curriculum based training programs designed for community entrepreneurs, small business owners, and educational organizations. The Genesis Block Academy will provide the technical skills, curriculum, training tools and digital platform to build the entrepreneur class and train budding entrepreneurs around the country.
Block Basics
This program is for early stage entrepreneurs at the beginning of their journey. Participants will have access to seminars, virtual workshops and training material to help them establish their business and conceptualize their idea.
Goal: Establishment of the business with legal structure, permit and licensing, business bank account and concept clearly defined.
Jumpstart Academy
The Jumpstart Academy is an 8 week intensive course for early stage entrepreneurs that builds a framework for founders to validate their business idea. Founders enroll in a structured entrepreneurship program that provides skills training, lean business development principles, mentoring and monthly consultations.
Goal: Validation of the business idea
Wits Begin
Wits Begin is an incubator program designed to help early stage startups and small businesses achieve business model validation and prove market potential. Founders will receive educational programming, technical assistance, business model development, mentoring and networking.

The Block Digital Learning Academy
Technology platform to host digital learning including entrepreneur training and professional skills development.
Block Eatz
Block Eatz is a food incubator that helps startups take their products and services to the market quickly. Companies will be provided a coworking kitchen space, a pop up restaurant space , access to a large network of food companies, mentors and culinary training.
Genesis Bridge Technology: Digitizing the Diverse Economy
Genesis Bridge streamlines the procurement process for large organizations and gives diverse, small businesses access to greater opportunities. The Genesis Bridge platform will provide the technological solutions, insights and trusted collaborative network to fuel the growth of the diverse economy.

The goal of the platform is to support the development of the internet of energy and its ability to create value for all stakeholders. The Genexus Energy platform will be designed as a single decentralized ledger to operate in multi-vendor networks across multiple clouds or hybrid deployments with on-premises nodes.
